Elise
MEET THE FOUNDER
Doctor of Occupational Therapy
Elise brings a rare combination of academic expertise, clinical experience, and high-level competitive insight to every athlete she coaches. As a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, she has been working in the field for 3.5 years and has obtained her certification as a stroke and rehabilitation therapist. This background gives her a deep understanding of human movement, adaptation, and recovery, which goes far beyond that of a traditional pitching coach. Her journey with Tincher Pitching began at just 13 years old, when she started training under founder Denny Tincher through her college graduation. After earning her instructor certification, she has now spent 16 years within the Tincher Pitching organization, including 7 years as a certified instructor, developing and refining athletes at every stage of their careers. A former Division I pitcher at Elon University, Elise earned CAA All-Rookie Team honors in 2015 and Second Team All-CAA recognition in 2019. During her collegiate career, she suffered a shoulder labral tear in the weight room that required surgery, an experience that tested her physically and mentally and ultimately reshaped her approach to the game. Elise credits the Tincher Pitching system as a key reason she was able to return to the circle and continue competing, as its emphasis on efficient movement, body awareness, and long-term arm health allowed her to rebuild safely and confidently. It was through both injury and education that Elises coaching philosophy truly formed. By combining her training as an occupational therapist with her certification as a Tincher Pitching instructor, she bridges science and sport, helping athletes understand why they move the way they do, not just how to perform a skill. This integrated approach allows her to develop athletes who compete with confidence while prioritizing longevity, adaptability, and sustainable performance. During her senior season in 2019, while throwing the slowest velocity of her college career, Elise proved that performance is about more than numbers and earned two Top-20 road wins against #9 Georgia and #19 James Madison.

OUR APPROACH
People First, Pitchers Second
Pitching is a complex human occupation influenced by arm health, movement quality, mental resilience, lifestyle habits, and personal identity. At Tincher Pitching - SOVA, we train athletes as people first, pitchers second, recognizing that long-term success comes from balance, self-awareness, and sustainable habits.
No two bodies or pitchers are the same. With a background as a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, each athlete receives an individualized, evidence-based approach grounded in biomechanics, motor learning, and current sports science. Our coaching style is direct, demanding, and individualized providing honest, no-fluff feedback while teaching athletes the "why" behind every movement and decision, building independent, adaptable pitchers who can perform at a high level under pressure.
This philosophy is built on 16 years of experience within the Tincher Pitching organization, combining the proven methodologies of one of softball's most respected training systems with cutting-edge understanding of human movement and performance.
